Don’t Look Back

DAILY VERSE

As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12

3639604

DEVOTION

Part of being saved is the grieving of the spirit. It’s that time where you soak in the true weight of your sins, it breaks you into little pieces. But as Christians, many of us hold onto many of those old sins. Looking back in regret, we revisit them. They can hold back our faith. But this verse puts a finality to that. It shows us that, because we believe and have been made new, our sins are forgotten!

Deafening Silence

DAILY VERSE

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

DEVOTION

Many times when we go through trials it can seem that there’s a deafening silence. God doesn’t seem to give direction or answer your prayers and others you rely on fall silent as well. Sometimes God uses silence to develop a stronger faith. Mustering up the strength to be joyful in these times is possible only by the knowledge that God loves you deeply and He’s working for the greatest outcome possible.

Wait for the Good

DAILY VERSE

Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!

Psalm 126:5

4

DEVOTION

When our hearts are weighed down by circumstances, there are those times where weeping overcomes us. In those times especially, God draws near. But the hard times will always blossom into better times. God works all things toward good.

Remain Faithful

DAILY VERSE

Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

Jeremiah 23:3

When-You-Want-to-Give-Up-6

DEVOTION

No matter what, do not give up! Remain faithful, because God promises great blessings to those who stay the course. Being a remnant means you’ve held onto something God has laid upon your heart. You’ve been dealt disappointments and have weathered the storms. You didn’t give up. Being a remnant means you’ve taken God at his word and are willing to wait and receive the blessings He has stored up for you.

Wield Your Weapon

DAILY VERSE

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

James 5:16

man-praying

DEVOTION

Prayer is the single most important tool in a Christians arsenal. It not only opens your direct line to God, but lifting up others is a way to work as your Father does, in the background. In all situations, prayer is appropriate. An active prayer life helps maintain a Christ-centered focus that will strengthen you faith and profit those you pray for!

Stepping Out

DAILY VERSE

Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.

Matthew 14:22

DEVOTION

We all know the passage in the Bible where Jesus walks on water. It’s an amazing display of his power and shows us what faith (getting out of the boat) looks like. But what we tend to overlook is this, Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go, knowing full well that they would face the impending storm.

There will be times where we will face trials that God has allowed. Trials that are meant to increase our faith and dependence on Him. These are the times where we need to well up the courage to step out of the boat.

Remain Faithful

DAILY VERSE

But the Lord told Elijah, “I still have 7,000 followers who have not worshiped Baal.”

Romans 11:4

remnant

DEVOTION

Elijah pleads with God, claiming he was the only one who had not bent a knee to Baal. God smacks his claim down telling him of the remnant of those who have been faithful. Life has its share of setbacks and unexpected turns, and many people give up because of those setbacks. But those who stay on course and remain faithful will experience God’s richer blessings. Be one of God’s remnants!

Self-Sovereign

DAILY VERSE

You should know better than to say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to the city. We will do business there for a year and make a lot of money!” What do you know about tomorrow?

James 4:13-14

DEVOTION

The original sin was birthed from a desire to be self-sovereign. This is the primary thing that plagues mankind today, the thought that we can determine our own path and be rulers over our own lives. Satan was booted out of heaven for this offense. A fully submitted life is the only life God will accept. Always lay your plans before God for His approval and guidance, His way is good!

Patience…

DAILY VERSE

My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know you learn to endure by having your faith tested.

James 1:2-3 (CEV)

press-on1

DEVOTION

Patience is the outward display of faith, but learning patience is no simple task. To persevere in the midst of trials, even when others consider you to be a laughingstock, gives God the glory as His plans are revealed. Stand fast, dig deep, press on, and finish strong!

Don’t Lose Confidence

DAILY VERSE

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Hebrews 10:35

confidence

DEVOTION

I don’t know about you, but my confidence can waiver sometimes. Not in God’s goodness or that I have been saved, but that something I’ve prayed for will actually come to pass. You see, when you’ve been praying for something over the course of many years, there will be those times where you’re certain that God is finally about to move and He doesn’t. Those are the times when the Enemy attempts to sew doubt and push you to lose your confidence.

If God has laid something on your heart He WILL come through. Don’t lose your confidence, continue to press forward knowing that, in His timing, God will come through!
