Don’t Dilute the Flavor of God’s Great Love

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

Matthew 5:13

Christ is calling us to be effective representations of him. We cannot draw others to him if we get too religious like the Pharisees, who relied on man-made laws and rules, drummed up by men over the course the ages. A stripped down and simple message that conveys God’s love for mankind, Christ’s sacrifice, death, and resurrection, and allowing Christ to love others through us will bring the lost to join in this greatest of love stories.

“You can’t take it with you.”

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

Philippians 4:11

God is the giver of all things. Through prayer and sacrifice he will provide that spouse you’ve been praying for, that home, that thing you’ve desired if it’s in His will. In the West, where we have access to everything under the sun, we have an unnatural view of possessions that blur the lines between want and need. Being a humble follower, content in what God provides is what we should strive to be. Like the old saying goes, “You can’t take it with you.”

Simply Say Yes!

Follow Me

“Come, follow me, ”Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Matthew 4:19

Jesus said these words to Peter and his brother Andrew, they immediately dropped what they were doing and followed him. How long did it take each one of us to respond to God’s call to “follow him”? How many times did He have to knock? If we were only as obedient as these two men, how much more could we have accomplished? If we would put aside our worldly view and simply say, “Yes Lord!”, we could affect this world in wondrous ways.

Pure Joy!

Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

Genesis 21:6

Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born. Sarah had laughed it off as impossible, but God came through with His promise. You can imagine the joy; so overcome with gratitude when crying becomes laughter. God has amazing things He wants to do in your life too, may you be brought to your knees with the laughter of pure joy.

Pray Boldly

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24

We are called to pray boldly in times of trials, to divert our focus to the One who will help us through. We are called to pray boldly in times of prosperity, least we forget that we have been blessed by God. We are called to pray boldly when we feel safe, or we may become too self-reliant. Pray as if God has accomplished the things you are praying for He is God, who can do ALL things!

Yearning for Heaven

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

God has placed a yearning for eternal life in every human heart, it’s what drives us forward. Some may mistake that yearning for a need to compile wealth or material possessions, but the target is heaven. People may do their utmost to deny God’s very existence, but the evidence lies in every corner of the world and in the heavens above. The God sized hole in ones life can only be satisfied by God himself.

Put It All On The Line

…“Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 4:19-20

Our faith is important, but standing up for our faith is even more important. You should never apologize for following Jesus. We should be bold like the apostles and be willing to put it all on the line for Jesus.
