Glory to God!

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:13-14

The overwhelming significance of the birth of Christ is the salvation God provided through Him. It’s the overflowing gratitude that we see manifested in people at this time of year.

Have a truly blessed Christmas!

The Gates are Sealed

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

There’s nothing sadder than someone who believes he or she has a reserved place in heaven because they’ve been good or moral throughout their life. Adam threw up a road block for humanity when he caved in to sin. So, unless one accepts salvation through Jesus Christ, the gates to heaven are permanently sealed. Lord, thank you for the gift of salvation. Open the eyes of the sinner so they too would have a chance to know you.

God’s Grace

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.

Titus 2:11-12

Little did the world know that out of the birth of a child would flow an eternity of God’s grace on mankind. Walking in Jesus’ footsteps in this day and age in more important than ever before. Father, thank you for sending your son to pay the ransom owed by mankind with your free gift of grace.

Be Anxious for Nothing

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

Matthew 6:25

Jesus is saying that God cares for us much more than we can imagine. He will always take care of our basic needs. So often we waste time on worry instead of looking up in prayer. Lord, help me to continually look to you for all of my needs worries.

My Rock

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14

Throughout my life, no matter if I was faithfully following Him or not, Christ has been close by my side. He is my rock, he’s always there, my constant source of strength. Lord God, thank you for always being there!

Less of Me and More of You

He must increase, but I must decrease.

John 3:30

As we experience God in sanctification our goal should be to become more like Christ every day. To do that we have to become less, we have to become servants. We have to put aside our selfish nature. Lord, help me reflect your presence more every day.

God Doesn’t Fit in a Box

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

Ephesians 3:20

How big are your dreams? How big is your faith? How big is your God? Never make the mistake of putting God in a box, giving Him human limitations. He is much bigger and can accomplish things we would normally give up on. Lord, thank you for being bigger than my earthly trappings.
