Know the Way

DAILY VERSE

God uses it [His Word] to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Philippians 2:13

DEVOTION

The Bible is our instruction manual for every aspect of life and the obstacles we will face. It is also a roadmap that allows us to follow the footprints Jesus left behind so that we may know the way we must go.

Jesus calls us to follow Him. Through God’s Word you will discover the way. His Word will soften your heart to the point where it is moldable once again.

Which Way Do I Go?

DAILY VERSE

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.

Psalm 32:8

DEVOTION

It’s God’s character to reveal His will to you. If the Lord wants you to make specific choices, then He will guide you. He understands that the road can become confusing and that often the decisions you face are difficult and complex.

As a good and faithful Father who sees what’s ahead, He’s more than willing to give you direction—and He says so many times in His Word!

Through the Fog…

DAILY VERSE

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Philippians 2:13

DEVOTION

Even when you’re not clear where God is leading you —if for whatever reason He keeps His will concealed—you can take comfort in the fact that He has you where He wants you and He’s working things out for you that are aligned with His will.

The Lord will guide you through the fog. He will move heaven and earth to show you His will in His timing.

Even Now…

DAILY VERSE

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

1 Peter 1:6

DEVOTION

The Bible says one day we will understand why the trials came. Why the tragedy struck. Why we picked up the phone to get devastating news. Why we got the diagnosis. But today? Today we have to praise Him like we will when it’s all been revealed.

Choose to act as though that day of revelation is now, and praise him through the pain. So even now, before the breakthrough comes, proclaim, “You are good and you do all things well!”

Rest in the Assurance

DAILY VERSE

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Philippians 2:13

DEVOTION

The Father has no half-baked schemes—especially when it comes to your life. You may not know His full plan — but He does. He can and will bring it to absolute completion.

Today, rest in the assurance that God is good. His plan is acceptable and perfect. He’s committed to working it out in your life as you trust in Him.

Credit Where Credit is Due

DAILY DOSE

Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven.”

John 6:32

DEVOTION

We have to be careful to give credit where credit is due.

As we see here, the Israelites assumed Moses was doing things that should have been credited to God instead. I think people forget, it is the power of God working through us that produces life changing moments.

Be a vessel for God to use. Tell God you are willing and He will use you to impact this world for His glory!

Man-Made Time-Tables

DAILY VERSE

But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

John 5:17

DEVOTION

In Genesis 2:2, God set a precedence for humans to rest on the sabbath. But God never stops working.

The pharisees continually sought to kill Jesus because they felt He had broken the laws they had made. But Jesus ignored their man-made rules.

God doesn’t follow man-made time-tables or rules. If you’re facing trials, He neither sleeps or stops working. Trust that He will move outside of the boxes we put Him. He will plow through the obstacle and cut short the delays! God is Good!

He’s in Your Corner

DAILY VERSE

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

DEVOTION

Trials can leave you feeling like you just jumped in the ring with the Heavyweight Champion of the World. Getting knocked down and somehow finding the strength to get back up on a daily basis becomes normal.

As many times as you get knocked down, God will give you the strength to get back up. He’s the fight-doctor in your corner, your cheering fan in the stands. He’s there to help you absorb every punch and remain standing until the final bell rings. Victory!

The Low Times; They Will Come

DAILY VERSE

Then I prayed, “Hear us, our God, for we are being mocked. May their scoffing fall back on their own heads, and may they themselves become captives in a foreign land!”

Nehemiah 4:4

DEVOTION

There will be moments along your journey when you feel like there is no hope and the task is impossible. When the low points in your life come, and they will, it’s important to pray.

No one can ever take prayer away from you! God is always there, and He listens to your cry.

Nehemiah was despised and ridiculed, but that became fuel for his communication with God. Nehemiah didn’t take out revenge against the people who mocked him, he entrusted the final results and justice to God.

Consistency

DAILY VERSE

On the second day they again marched around the town once and returned to the camp. They followed this pattern for six days.

Joshua 6:14

DEVOTION

One of the keys to success is consistency. The Israelites had been walking in the desert for 40 years. Jericho was on the edge of their Promised Land, and God tells them to walk around the city for seven more days. Joshua and his men had to march around the walls for seven days. Through this simple exercise, God is building up the faith of His people.

At least one of the soldiers probably said, “This is ridiculous. Nothing is happening. Let’s stop this nonsense.”

There always comes a point in the journey where it’s tempting to quit, but Joshua and the Israelites kept marching. Every day, step after step, they put their trust in God.

As you march around the walls that represent your own personal Jericho, don’t grow weary. Don’t lose heart. You must keep pressing forward. You have to persevere. And you have to be consistent. Chip away at the walls piece-by-piece and step-by-step, and you will eventually see those walls fall down.
