Let Go!

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

Are you the type who allows anxiety to consume them? Do trials bring about a sense of panic? Did you know that the verb “be still” is translated in Hebrew as the word “rapha” which literally means “to let go” or “to surrender”? The Creator of Universe has your back! Let go of the wheel, jump in the passenger seat and let God be God.

The Hand of Hope

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”

Matthew 14:27

Sometimes in the midst of the storms we face we fail to recognize the hand of God reaching out to save us. We miss out on the hope that He is attempting to infuse into our lives. Jesus is reaching out His hand of hope, take it and rejoice!

God is Always Near

And the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub to the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the Lord.

Ezekiel 10:4

When God led Israel through the wilderness to the promised land, He did so using a pillar of fire by night and a “cloud” during the day. When you look up to the sky and see billowy white clouds, be reminded that God is with you all of the time. In hard times and in good times, God is always near.

New Life

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

Seeds need to be buried deep in the dark soil, the heavy weight of the soil puts pressure on the seed and within a span of time, with the proper watering, the seed breaks open and brings forth new life. Our spiritual life can be similar to the seed. Sometimes we must go through the extreme pressures of trials to see the new life God has for us. If you’re feeling the pressure, rest on God strength, He has blessings waiting on the other side.

The Straight & Narrow

He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Psalm 23:3

When life seems like a roller coaster ride, God can slow things down and set your feet on level ground. When things are coming at you from all directions, He can give you strength to help you get through it. Put your focus on God and listen for His voice and He will set on a straight and narrow path to completion.

Open Arms…

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say.”

John 8:3–5

Like the Pharisees, how many times have we passed judgement legalistically on someone? One of the biggest barriers to a saving faith in Jesus Christ has to be legalistic misconceptions about what it means to be a Christian. It’s not a set of rules (no drinking alcohol, no cussing, no fun), it’s all about making a decision to follow Christ and the changes that manifest in the heart over time. We shouldn’t be pointing fingers, we should be beckoning with open arms.

Don’t Miss the Train

Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said. But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

Genesis 50:18

Joseph was thrown into a pit and left for dead, but God had other plans. It took years and many trials before Joseph finally rose to power in Egypt, but he kept his faith intact, looking forward to the blessing he was sure God had for him. God has blessings for those who persevere and are faithful. Don’t lose your blessing by failing to see that God may have other plans for you on the other side of trials He may have placed there to prepare you to receive them.
