DAILY VERSE

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord”

Isaiah 1:18

DEVOTION

God wants us to use the mind he gave us. To have an answer for those seeking Him out, we need to question why we are here and what have we been created for. We need to show them the evidence and have a convincing argument.

Encouraged!

Encouragement

DAILY VERSE

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

DEVOTION

About 10 years ago I started sending one of my friends a Bible verse every day. We were involved with the men’s ministry at church, so I thought I’d encourage my friend with verses that encouraged me. Now 10 years later I am blessed to share this encouragement with people all across the United States. The responses I get have blessed me ten-fold! Thanks for the encouragement!

Work in Progress

Work

DAILY VERSE

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3

DEVOTION

Faith is God given. I pray that God would increase my faith all the time. Being able to put aside the chaos that surrounds us, the earthly worries that plague us, and completely trust God to handle it all brings about a peace I’d love to experience. We’re all works in progress, God will be busy molding us into faithful servants until the day He calls us home.

Lord, keep me out of harms way

Protection

DAILY VERSE

But the Lord can be trusted to make you strong and protect you from harm.

Thessalonians 3:3

DEVOTION

The enemy has one purpose, to cause you to stumble in the hopes that you’ll fall. A close relationship with God will thwart his efforts and keep you from harm.

A Kind Word

Kind Word

DAILY VERSE

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Proverbs 16:24

DEVOTION

There’s nothing more uplifting than a kind word from a family member, a friend, or even a stranger. A kind word can change the course of someones day. Spiritually motivated, it conveys God’s love in a tangible way.

God is Always On Time!

Time

DAILY VERSE

Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices.

Psalm 37:3, 7

DEVOTION

Waiting can be the hardest thing when your livelihood and/or quality of life are affected. We want to be good providers for our family, so when that sphere of our life revolves around God’s timing, the waiting can be excruciating. We have to be on guard, for this is when spiritual warfare can rear it’s ugly head. Trust in the Lord and be patient, God is always on time.

Loving Others

Love

DAILY VERSE

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:8

DEVOTION

You will never know the fullness of a life following Jesus until you learn to love others the way Christ loves us. It’s not always our own ability to love, but our willingness to allow Christ to love others “through” us.

I Will Be Exalted

Exalted

DAILY VERSE

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 46:10

DEVOTION

Over the past couple of years there has been a real lack of the Lord being exalted here on earth. People have come after Christian values with a vengeance. My heart goes out to those who do not know Jesus, for what they are doing has eternal consequences. As God says, “I will be exalted.”

A Miraculous Shift in Your Circumstances

Good

DAILY VERSE

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

DEVOTION

It’s when we are most vulnerable that God can use our own weakness to glorify himself and show the world his great love. When we realize we can no longer struggle, that we must stop relying on our own strength and hand things over to our Creator, that we see a miraculous shift as God changes our circumstances.

Words Do Matter

Words

DAILY VERSE

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.”

Exodus 20:7

DEVOTION

One of the most concerning trends over the last 10-20 years is the amount of profanity allowed on television. On cable, taking God’s name in vain seems to be one of the most popular phrases. It’s done with such nonchalance, but for me and hopefully other Christians, it’s quite shocking. Words do matter, we should hold God in high esteem.
