Evidence of the Divine

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Isaiah 6:3

Every now and then I see those videos, you know, the ones where someone gives a homeless person some money and they, in turn, use it to do good for someone else. You hear people say, “This gives me hope for humanity.” What I see is simply more proof of God’s existence. It’s the inherent good in people that is God-breathed and natural…once we move beyond our selfish hearts.

Peace Will Come

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O lord, will keep me safe.

Psalm 4:8

Faith is the taking on of a radical endeavor, following Christ is not a cake walk. You have to be willing to be laid low in trials that would shatter lesser men or women. But be encouraged, when this time of testing, this time of molding produces a worthy servant, peace will invade your life in a miraculous way.

Fellowship with God

“Be still, and know that I am God!I will be honored by every nation.I will be honored throughout the world.”

Psalm 46:10

Our time with God should be solely focused on Him. Sometimes we may need to go off into a quiet place to get that. When we have fellowship with God it’s an amazing thing. We have to be ever mindful because God can choose many ways to speak to our heart. To find the peace and joy we all desire, God must be our main focus.

Let it go…

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 18:21-22

When someone wrongs us but doesn’t ask for forgiveness, what should we do? Do we hold onto it and let it fester, or do we let it go and forgive anyway? Jesus gives us the answer. Forgiveness is not for the other person all of the time, sometimes it’s for each of us as well.

Share Your Joy

When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2

The gospel message of Jesus Christ does not require fancy words or a long drawn out explanation. His message is simple and meant for everyone. Lofty words can miss the mark, rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance and share the joy that Christ has brought to your life.

The Lord is our Strong Tower

My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest. Even if the forest should be destroyed and the city torn down…

Isaiah 32:18-19

We can experience peace, even in the midst of great trials! God is our strong tower, our protector, a warrior against Satan’s attacks. As we face hardships, we only need to rely on our Almighty Father to be our shield and give us direction. Our God is an awesome God…

They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Acts 2:46-47

God created mankind to have fellowship with others, He did not intend for us to be alone. After experiencing life-changing trials about 5 years ago, I fell into a solitary period. I felt unworthy and embarrassed about my situation and felt that no one wanted to hear bad news, so I crawled inside of myself. The yearning in my spirit for human interaction was great. These are also times when you find out who your true friends are. I’m thankful that God brings amazing people into our lives to have fellowship with, to share in the good as well as the bad times, and that our stories somehow encourage others who may be going through the same thing.
