Do You Love Your Neighbor?

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 22:37-39

We can look around at any moment these days and see that our world is experiencing a lack of love. As Christians, do we really love our neighbors as Jesus commanded. Do we unfairly judge and treat others on the worlds standards or God’s? We need to do a better job of following Jesus’ commandment to love if want to see a change.

Every Knee Wil Bow

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9–11

I can’t even begin to imagine the scene that will unfold as Christ triumphantly bursts through the clouds in all of His glory. For those that have scoffed that day will be bitterness, but for those who believe…immense joy at the return of the King of Kings!

You Have Been Chosen

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious.

1 Peter 2:4

Those who do not believe may think you are delusional for putting your trust in Jesus Christ. But as we know, through Jesus we are seen as justified and righteous by God. Our place in eternity is secured giving each of us a hope that is real.

Satan’s Aim is to Stumble

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1 John 4:4

We’re all in Satan’s sight picture daily. His aim is to derail are attempts to follow Jesus and to trip us up. But God has already won the fight! If we submit ourselves to God, the Devil will flee. Whenever your faced with temptation, submit your will to God and He will provide a way out.

Working as if God is watching

Rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man.

Ephesians 6:7

We should do everything as if the Lord has commissioned us to do it: raising our kids, loving our spouse, working, how we treat others… So often we stumble through life as if God could care less about what we do, but He sees everything and knows every thought. Our actions glorify and are a testimony to God.

Image vs. Character

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart”

1 Samuel 16:7

In a world where narcissism has increased to ridiculous levels, you have to think God can’t be to happy with mankind on a Noah’s Age level. Thankfully God sent us His rainbow as a sign? So often people go off of appearance rather than someone’s character. Thankfully God’s not that shallow and if we want to truly reflect Jesus Christ, we shouldn’t be either.

Filtered by Christ’s Sacrifice

Rose Colored

We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Isaiah 64:6

Because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, all of mankind is viewed as unworthy and sinful in God’s sight. This is how we are born into this world. Thankfully, because of Jesus Christ’s willingness to take upon himself all of our sins, all who have believed on Jesus are now viewed by God through the filter of His son.
