Christ in You

DAILY VERSE

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

DEVOTION

If we are truly filled with faith in Jesus Christ it will overflow into every aspect of our life. If others see Christ through the joy we display, other will be drawn to Christ. The unseen will be seen through us and draw others into a relationship with Him.

Saved from Destruction

DAILY VERSE

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

DEVOTION

Be confident that God’s knowledge is far beyond our comprehension. When the rug gets pulled out from under your feet, you may not understand that the path you were on was leading to destruction. Be confident that God has only the best intentions for your life. When the time is right He will open His storehouse of blessings upon you.

From the Valley

DAILY VERSE

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

DEVOTION

Most people don’t simply come to a faith in Jesus Christ without feeling a great need. A grief of spirit will come over those who accept God’s gift as the realization of the depth of their sin grips them. It’s the beginning of crawling out of the valley and up to heights God has in store for the believer.

Be Thankful

DAILY VERSE

…but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

DEVOTION

If you are discouraged, if you feel defeated, you need look no further than God’s word. He didn’t die on a cross for you to be given a life devoid of joy, His plans involve much greater things than that. Be thankful in all things and watch God’s plan unfold!

DEVOTION

If you chose to follow Christ because you thought your life we get easier, you probably figured out by now that it doesn’t work that way. As our hearts are changed to be Kingdom focused, persecution follows. Following Christ is not the easy way out, but the reward is priceless!

Be an Example

DAILY VERSE

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:9

 

DEVOTION

We are to be a light, not only to the world but to our children. When they want to understand how to act in society, they look to us to be an example. They mimc our attitudes and reactions. You can usually tell how adults act in private by how their children act in public. Be a a good example for your kids.

God’s Own

DAILY VERSE

But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

2 Timothy 2:19

 

DEVOTION

You can’t waltz into someones home and expect the family to except you as one of their own, just as going to church doesn’t automatically make you one of God’s. For those who believe and have asked forgiveness are the ones God knows as his own. One simple choice changes a life in an instant.

I Owe Him Everything!

DAILY VERSE

On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses—

DEVOTION

All things I owe to my Savior! While working toward great things there will be trials and waiting. These times must be also counted as joy, for God is accomplishing a great thing even though the going may seem slow. If our default reaction is to rejoice, we are glorifying God and all He is doing.

Put God in the Center

…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

DEVOTION

Many households crumble in this day and age. There’s only one sure way to insure your home is built on a solid foundation, that is God being in the center of it. If God is only on the periphery, your marriage, your family, your home, could wind up being a casualty of this world. Put God in the center.

Trusting Him

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

DEVOTION

When we’re facing the unknown, when things are beyond our control, we must trust that the Lord will be there by our side. Our Creator has control over all things. He’s given each of unique talents to accomplish great things. As we trust in Him, He will do great things through us.
