DAILY VERSE
The godly people in the land are my true heroes!I take pleasure in them!
Psalm 16:3

DEVOTION
Who are the people you look up to? Many kids these days look up to the wrong types of people to be their role models. People that live lives of excess and bad decisions. Who you look up to can shape who you become. If your heroes are godly people of good character, chances are good that you will mirror their behavior and one day have others looking up to you as well.

DAILY VERSE
O lord, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I am in trouble?
Psalm 10:1

DEVOTION
About three years ago, my wife and I went through a pretty devastating period in our lives. We ended up losing almost everything. We had followed what we thought God wanted us to do, but the train came off of the tracks in a big way. In the midst of everything, I questioned myself and wondered if the discernment I thought I had was gone. Through great anxiety I prayed, but heard nothing. God seemed so far away, did he hear me? My faith has grown over the last three years and I can see God’s blessings, and I know he is with me. When we are rocked with hard times, we seem to expect instant answers. God may be holding things off for a time to build your faith, to do a work inside of you. Though it may feel like he’s not listening, he is always there.

DAILY VERSE
Lead me in the right path, O lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.
Psalm 5:8

DEVOTION
Boy, is this my prayer! I have to admit, unless God makes it “plain”, my remedial mind will miss the signs. I think every one of us wants to follow God’s plan for our lives. Unfortunately for us, God doesn’t speak to us as directly as he did to those in the Old Testament. We have to be patient and mindful, seeking him out in prayer, and listening intently for that “still small voice”.

DAILY VERSE
Many people say, “Who will show us better times?” Let your face smile on us, lord.
Psalm 4:6

DEVOTION
When you’re praying for God to get you through hard times or to accomplish big things in your life, it’s often a long praying and waiting process. It takes an amazing amount of patience and a healthy dose of God-supplied faith. God rewards the faithful, he will smile on you and restore you.

DAILY VERSE
But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.
Proverbs 1:33

DEVOTION
Going through trials and tough times can be scary. When your afraid of not being able to pay your bills or how you’re going to live, it can be crippling. Our fear is a product of our human perspective. When we rely on God and faithfully trust that he will take care of us, our fear dissipates. If you long for true peace in your life, learn to rely on God.

DAILY VERSE
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

DEVOTION
What is your main ambition in life? If your main ambition is to be rich, have a nice house and a fancy car, and your wondering why your life is so empty…maybe your hearts in the wrong place. Material things will never fulfill your life. We all have a God sized hole in our life. Until it’s filled, our lives will always be empty. When our hearts are transformed by our belief in Jesus Christ, our motives change. Our ambition becomes focused on eternity and serving others.

DAILY VERSE
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.
Deuteronomy 31:8

DEVOTION
God does most of his work unseen to us in the physical world. He can prepare hearts and develop opportunities that result in completing something we’ve prayed for. We must give God the credit for opening the doors and paving the way to our success. We must also remember that God’s timing is always perfect, being patient and continuing to pray as God completes things demonstrates our faith.
