Producing Fruit

So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Colossians 1:10

We can think of our lives as a fruit orchard. When we walk through that orchard, are ALL the trees bearing fruit? Each of us struggles with certain areas of our lives which tend to bear little or no fruit. The good news is; God can transform an orchard full of dead trees into a flourishing oasis! All we need to do is ask Him for help. Identify the areas in your life that could use improvement and pray that God would transform those areas into an overwhelming harvest.

Water Your Spiritual Life

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1

Diving into God’s Word daily and enriching your relationship with Him through prayer allows God’s strength to flow freely throughout your life. Like Jeremiah 17:8 illustrates, you will be “like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.” You will be prepared for trials and struggles when they come. The alternative is to be stranded in a dry desert where anxiety and fear reside. Enrich your spiritual life by watering it with prayer and God’s Word on a daily basis.

On Your Knees

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! – Psalm 105:4

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! – 1 Chronicles 16:11

We all have a tendency to seek God most passionately when we’re going through trials when we should be seeking Him that way every day. When life is going well and we’re feeling exceptionally blessed, we tend to lose that zeal. Make it a daily practice to seek out God! Don’t wait for trials to drive you to your knees,  make it a daily habit and those trials won’t seem so big.

You Are a Conqueror!

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

When you think of a conqueror, what comes to mind? I think of a knight covered in heavy armor, wielding a broad sword. We have inherited a warriors heart through our relationship with Christ, but often we find ourselves cowering in fear. God will clear a path for us if we would simply trust Him. Clothed in God’s strength, we can conquer the things we fear, glorifying God in the process!

God comes through on time!

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

No matter what you are going through, remember God comes through on time! Despite setbacks, holdups, waiting periods, or seasons of perceived stagnation, trust that God is working for your good. Draw on God’s strength and accept the victory that God has planned for you!

Are You Listening?

The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.

Acts 9:7

As Paul is driven to his knees by a bright light, Jesus’ voice is clearly heard by those who were with him on the road to Damascus. How awesome would it be to hear Christ’s voice clearly as we face adversity in our lives? Through God’s Word and focused prayer we can still experience His directional nudgings. We need to be in constant contact with our Father if we are to stay on the narrow path that leads to fulfilling His plan for our lives.

He’s Working 24/7

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Matthew 6:27

When things don’t happen within the time span you’d hoped they would, anxiety can set in. When prayers seem to go unanswered you can feel deflated. Don’t! God is working diligently in the background. Unseen, He is knitting things together in a way that will benefit you and glorify Him. Be patient, as hard as it seems, because your Father in heaven is actively at work 24/7.
