God is For You

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

2 Corinthians 1:20

Israel was certainly guilty of one thing that seems to be a theme throughout the Old Testament, they often had spiritual amnesia. They constantly forgot the amazing things God accomplished for them. It seems amazing to me, in this day and age, that you could forget that God Almighty parted the Red Sea so that you could get away from the pursuing Egyptian army. But how many times are we guilty of the same thing? We allow anxiety and despair to overtake us, knowing that time after time God has come through for us. Always remember that God is for you, He is your advocate, He will bring you safely through any storm.

God’s Will is Perfect

And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.

2 Samuel 7:16

There are many times I think I know what God is doing only to be reminded that I am not always privy to God’s plans; I need to continue trusting and continue waiting. We are nothing without the belief that what God is doing is perfect and will be worked out at the perfect time. Be patient, trust that God’s will is perfect, and allow your faith to grow.

Be Strong in Your Faith

Then Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said, behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.”

Judges 6:36-37

These verses lay out a double standard in regard to faith. If you fully believe God is going to do something, would you dare to then ask Him for a sign just be sure? Be strong in your faith, believe that God will come through in whatever situation you find yourself in!

Share God’s Goodness

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Romans 12:2

I don’t know about you, but there are sometimes when the world can seem somewhat overwhelming. The negativity makes me feel like simply pulling back and distancing myself from it. But God wants us to embrace the negativity and shine a light on it. As He transforms us and works through us, may we latch onto His goodness and love and share it with those around us.

New Beginnings

Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

2 Corinthians 1:9

When things not only don’t go as you had planned but completely implode, you can be left feeling as if you’d committed some egregious sin and God is punishing you. These Job moments are not meant to break you, they’re meant for growth and new beginnings. God did not send His people on the easy path to the Promised Land. He needed to complete a work in them first. God is readying you for blessings and new things!

Keep Seeking

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They shall spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams.

Isaiah 44:3-4

We will all go through spiritual dry spells. Those times where we feel as if we’re in a dry desert, struggling to hear God’s voice. No matter how hard we try, we strain but hear no answers. These are growing time, a time to build up your longing for God. Continue to seek Him! In His time, answers will come and your longing will become a regular part of your life.

Don’t let fear be an obstacle!

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Luke 12:32

Fear overtakes us all at times. It can be paralyzing and become an obstacle, but that is not God’s intention. The Devil uses fear to alter our course or stop us in our tracks. Stand upright under your Father’s strength, don’t let the enemy block your path!
