Solid as a Rock

“Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”

Isaiah 43:13

One of the most comforting and encouraging things to know is that, when God does something, it’s done. We no longer have to wonder if it will be snatched from our hands. We do not have to allow anxiety and fear in. If God wills it, you can be certain it will stand solidly until He says it has been completed.

Slow Your Roll!

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

If there’s one thing I would truly love to learn to master, it’s patient endurance! Learning to wait on God’s timing and trusting and knowing He’s always on time. Yes, I’d love for things to move at “my” speed, but God sees all of the obstacles and reasons things need to move for my good. God, continue to give me the patience required to honor your timing.

Strong Finish

And he said, “Take the arrows,” and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground with them.” And he struck three times and stopped. Then the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck down Syria until you had made an end of it, but now you will strike down Syria only three times.”

2 Kings 13:18-19

How many times have you missed out on something simply because you gave up too early? Elisha was giving the king God’s path to success. By “quitting”, he robbed himself of complete victory. Many times we grow wary and give up prior to receiving God’s full blessing. Be strong and finish the things God has placed in your path and you will receive all that He has intended for you!

Is God Your Co-Pilot?

For you are my rock and my fortress, and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me.

Psalm 31:3

I’ve made plenty of wrong turns in my life by allowing the world to dictate which offramps to take. To fully experience the fullness God has intended for your life, you have to allow Him to lead. If God is your co-pilot, you’re sitting in the wrong seat!

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 1:22

In a world that has come accustomed to instant gratification, having patience and waiting on the Lord has become a rare commodity. But it’s not all about us. God may move quickly or he may hold back. It all depends on what it is he wants to do with us. We may need a little molding, or he may have to ball up the clay and start over. Our Christian maturity is a process. Once all we’re holding onto is Jesus’ robe, only then will have humbled ourselves to the point of reliance.

Flawed to Perfected

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Romans 8:29

God chose you for you. He takes you with all of your flaws and wants to use all of that to affect the world around you. In Him we are made new; still bumped, still bruised, still flawed. When you wrap all of that unperfect mess in perfection (the Holy Spirit), now you have a warrior poised to preach Jesus to the world!

Grace for All

“These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.” “So the last will be first, and the first last.”

Matthew 20:12, 16

If you’ve ever been passed over for a higher position or felt underpaid for the work you were doing, you can certainly relate. But this is the orphan spirit of Cain coming to the surface. The need to be better than Able. Jesus’ parable tells us that grace covers “all”. Whether you’ve believed from your childhood or are a new believer, the gift of grace equally covers all.
