Pride: The wall must fall

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 16:18

Pride has taken down many amazing men and women. It’s the one infectious human trait that erects the highest of walls between mankind and a loving God. We cannot make it a single day without God’s breath in our lungs and His strength coursing through our bodies. Humble yourself, fall on your knees, and give thanks to God who loves you!

We Have the Power

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36

As believers in Jesus Christ, we’ve been freed from the shackles of this world and we hold the power to refute the attacks of the enemy. Many times we forget to exercise the power we have available to us and instead allow fear to enter the picture. You are a child of the Almighty, take advantage of your status as a child of God!

A Thankful Heart

Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

Psalm 63:3

We have an amazing God! How often do we lay before Him petitions and forget to be thankful? A thankful heart brings with it more contentment, more peace, and helps strengthen our relationship with God. Let us begin the week by being thankful for his steadfast love and for everything He has given each of us!

At the Foot of the Cross

While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”

Mark 5:35-36

In every instance where Jesus heals or resurrects a person from the dead, the central message always comes back to belief. It’s the belief of the individual, that he or she can be healed or that Jesus is who He said He was, that draws the Saviour to them. If you are facing some monumental circumstances, give them fully to God and simply believe!

Your Word is a Light

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Micah 7:8

Have you ever been somewhere completely devoid of light? It’s an eerie feeling and can be dangerous, not being able to obstacles that may obstruct your path. As Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s Word is the light we need when we feel like we’re in a dark place.

Building You Life on the Rock

Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

Matthew 7:24-25

If you have built your life around following Jesus, you’ll be able to withstand the trials of this world. Having been through some extremely trying lows that left me feeling as of the waves were going to overcome me, I’ve come through even stronger in my faith. Whatever you build; your marriage, your family, your friendships, or your business, build them on the Rock that is Jesus Christ and you will withstand the storms this world throws at you!

We All Stumble

When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

Psalms 94:18-19

Face it, we all stumble and fall at times, but God is always there to catch us. He cares deeply for each you and always wants the best for you. When the guilt of sin weighs you down, be comforted that God’s love has conquered sin and death for you!
