Claim Your Reward

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

Hebrews 10:36

If you keep your eyes on Jesus and keep the faith, you’ll never regret giving God your all. You will, however, regret those times when you gave up. God challenges us in so many ways. His challenges are meant to strengthen and bring positive change. Treat every day as if it were an end-of-season championship and you will find that the rewards are worth the effort!

Be a Light

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

Darkness; that period during trials where you’re waiting for God to open a door. During that season you can choose whether to be positive or constantly mope around. Others are watching, so how you choose to react matters. As believers, we have to navigate these trying times, and in the process, glorify God. Maximize your refining time by being as joyful as possible and honoring God at the same time.

RefocusYour Attention

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

1 Chronicles 16:11

When your focus has been glued to your present situation, causing fear and anxiety, you’ve got to move it back to Jesus! When your focus is on Jesus, who has the ability to move mountains and the power of creation itself, you will have hope, comfort, strength, and assurance!

Out of the Valley

Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.

Job 5:17

Job was beloved by God because he glorified Him. There are not many places in the Bible where you see God spotlighting a man like this. God uses trials to help us grow, not to punish us. There are so many times where people will ponder, “How can a loving God allow people to suffer?” They do not question the state of our fallen world nor take into consideration the evil that men do of their own free will. God is good! If you are suffering, it’s only temporary and He will give you the strength to endure it and the opportunity to glorify Him when you’ve been lifted from the valley.

Suffering either has to do with justice or correction. It has to have a purpose.

Honest Anger

I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, but trouble comes.

Job 3:26

Job is experiencing the lowest of lows. He’s lost nearly everything and now pain racks his body day and night. He’s even gone so far as to wish he’d never been born. When you feel the weight of your trials has buckled your knees and sapped all of your strength, call out to God in all honesty. It’s not unnatural to feel hurt and angry. Talk earnestly with God, He wants a real relationship with you.

“A God worth worshipping is a God who prefers honest anger to flattery.” – Harold Kushner

Safe Passage

For God’s angel visited me last night, the angel of my God, the God I passionately serve. He came and stood in front of me and said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You are destined to stand trial before Caesar. And because of God’s favor on you, he has given you the lives of everyone who is sailing with you.’

Acts 27:23-24

What has God shown you in the way that you should go? Have you been hoping and praying for something He has laid on your heart, something bigger than you ever envisioned for your life? Rest assured, if He has set you on this course, He will give you safe passage.

Hold Fast

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.”

Job 2:9

Job had already endured the loss of his flocks and children, God allowed it. Now he’s been stricken with sores that would not only cause him great pain but also cause him to become an outcast. Job refused to curse God.

Will you have the same faith in the midst of trials? God allows things to happen to us to help us to grow and to reveal His presence in our lives. Stand firm and hold onto your faith as He brings you out of the valley and into glory!
