Play Your Part

Sharing

DAILY VERSE

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

1 Perter 3:15

DEVOTION

As Christians, it’s important that we are ready to share our faith to an unbelieving world. Notice though, that at the end of this verse it tells you how. Be respectful and don’t clobber people over the head, be gentle. The goal isn’t to have every person you share the gospel with make a decision on the spot. You may be the seed planter, you may be a waterer, or you may the final word that moves someone to except God’s great gift. Whatever your part is, play it to the fullest.

Rejoice!

Rejoice

DAILY VERSE

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whohave been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

DEVOTION

God uses difficult times to strengthen us and prepare us fro far greater things. It may not seem like amazing things are going to come your way while you’re going through the tough times, but God always has a purpose. The example you become during trials will speak volumes to those around you as you persevere. Thanks God in the bad times as you would in times of plenty.

God Gives Me Strength

Punched

DAILY VERSE

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Isaiah 40:28–29

DEVOTION

There have been many times where I simply had no strength left to push forward. Those are the times where I rely on God most heavily. I rely on him everyday, but when I’m feeling like life is just beating me down every time I get up, I need God’s unlimited reserves of strength to carry me through.

Calming the Storm

Calming the Storm

DAILY VERSE

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Matthew 8:27

DEVOTION

How confident are you that Christ can conquer any circumstance you may be facing? His disciples were in a panic, thinking their boat would capsize. Their eyes had not yet been opened to who Jesus was. Through the bible, we don’t have that limitation. Trust in Christ with all your might!

A Source of Awe

Heavens

DAILY VERSE

They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
Psalm 19:3-4
DEVOTION
From ancient times the heavens have been a source of wonder and awe. They speak volumes about a Creator whose ability and knowledge are far greater than we can comprehend, but who’s  attention to detail is remarkable. The evidence of the work of His hands is all around us to lead the seeker back to the one who created him/her.

Do you have faith?

Faith

DAILY VERSE

A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,”he said. “Be clean!”Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
Matthew 8:2-3
DEVOTION
This is one of my favorite passages from Matthew. It shows that the leper had great faith! Like the woman who touched Jesus’ robe knowing that doing so would cure her of years of sickness. Do you have faith that Jesus can change your situation?

Our Relational God

Relational God

DAILY VERSE

In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help.

From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 18:6

DEVOTION

One of the main differences of Christianity among other religions is our belief in a loving God who cares for us and wants a relationship with us. God, who in his love for us, made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be with him for eternity. He yearns for our prayers, it’s why we’ve been created. By his grace we have been saved!
