We NEED Others

DAILY VERSE

Shot of a group of people holding hands and praying together

DEVOTION

This scripture, along with many others throughout the Bible, teach us that we need our brothers and sisters in Christ. Especially in troubling times. We need others to pray, encourage, and walk alongside us when we are facing difficult circumstances.

It is through these interactions that we realize we are not alone. We have a God who is with us always, and we have true friends who care for us.

Whatever you are struggling with today, seek out others who will listen, pray for you, and pray with you. When you do, hold on tight as God does some remarkable things in your life!

Invite Jesus into the midst of your battle!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

God instructed the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant as they walked around the walls of Jericho. It represented the very presence of God! So while the Israelites were simply walking around the walls of Jericho, they had brought the Lord into the center of what they were doing.

You may be going through trials right now. You may also be trying to get through them on your own steam. There’s a much better way. Invite Jesus into the midst of your battle!

Instead of going through life on your own and trying to be victorious in your own strength, bring God into the equation. It changes everything. God becomes a part of everything you do.

White as Snow

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

It’s unfortunate that many people have to be reduced to their lowest point before they look up. There are so many who feel that they’ve fallen too far to be worthy of being picked back up, the Enemy’s lie that allows them to fall even further.

There is not one person who is unworthy of God’s love! His redeeming grace is free to ALL who would simply call out and ask for it. We who believe are all on a level playing field. No one is greater than the other. In God’s sight, all He sees is a dearly loved child.

Jesus died so that we may live! Every person who calls on His name and believes is washed white as snow, their sins are forgotten! God is good!

It May Seem Strange, but…

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

I’ve been reading through Joshua this week. Can you imagine the only thing between you and entering into the blessings God has in store for you is a double-walled city you have to conquer? Then God says, to conquer it, all you need to do is march around it for six days and on the final day blow some horns and yell really loud.

We know God could have sent an earthquake to drop that city in a minute, but God wanted them to demonstrate their faith. Once they did that, He opened the door and allowed them to walk through it.

Whatever battle you are facing, turn to the Lord and ask Him for wisdom. Ask Him for the plan that will lead to victory. Whatever He tells you to do (through His Word, the Holy Spirit, or wise and godly counsel), obey that plan no matter how strange it might seem. Follow God’s plan and know that you will be well on your way to victory.

Focus on the Greatness of God

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Some of the trials I’ve faced have resolved quickly in a matter of days or months. I liken those to small skirmishes. Others however, are more like standing in front of the walls of Jericho. This prosperous and heavily fortified city was the gateway to the Promised Land. Jericho was the final obstacle faced by Israel before they could enter the land God had promised them.

To defeat a kingdom that was surrounded by two sets of massive walls with securely barred gates must have seemed like an impossible task. But Joshua followed God’s precise instructions, and what resulted was one of the most epic victories ever recorded!

To obtain victory over trials of this magnitude you must first focus on the greatness of God rather than on the size of your problem. Your trust in God will then multiply and you’ll see Him move in ways you never imagined!

I’ll Do Anything…

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

If you are living and breathing, you’ve struggled. We all have this in common. Trials and hardships have occurred in our lives, and we’ve found ourselves doing anything in our power, including begging God, to get us out of them.

But, there is so much more that God wants to do in and through us in the midst of the trials we face.

Whether you’re in between trials or currently experiencing them, seek God like never before and trust that He’ll see you through them.

God Springs Into Action

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Our prayers do not fall to the ground. They do not fall on deaf ears. They go before our Father in heaven. Our prayers can be likened to a small child asking something of their loving, doting parent.

God answers our prayers in light of His goodness and love for us. God answers our prayers in three ways: “yes,” “soon, keep on praying” or “I have something better for you.”

Pray, knowing that the minute your prayers leave your lips, God hears them and springs into action!

Pray!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Such a simple verse, but it gets right to the heart of our faith!

Because prayer is the root of our relationship with God, it’s something we should partake in often. When it comes to trials, this verse says it all! We must realize that it may take days, weeks, and even years, but pray constantly.

It’s been nearly 10-years for me. Myself and a close friend have been praying every Tuesday night over this time. Something God had begun in our lives has yet to be fully realized, yet we pray that God would allow us to see a breakthrough and a victory.

Have faith and pray! When God answers your prayers, tell others what He has done!

365 Days a Year

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

We all need to be reminded not to allow fear to rule our lives. The phrase “do not be afraid” appears in the Bible 365 times. That’s once a day for an entire year. It’s as if God is saying, “Every day I am with you, you can trust in Me.”

We don’t need to be afraid. Not because we won’t face trouble, hardship, or challenges, but because of who our God is. He can handle what we cannot. He is always with us.

You don’t need to be afraid today, and you can trust that good things are always coming your way by God’s grace.

Don’t Quench His Presence

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

The presence of God and His ability to draw near to you can only be thwarted by one thing and that is your lack of faith. Your unwillingness to trust Him.

You have two choices; you can quench the power of God to work in your life simply by not trusting Him. Or you can allow the full, unmatched power of God to work through you by trusting in Him fully.

Lay your burdens down. Allow God to handle the heavy lifting. Remove all hesitation and place your full confidence in Him!
