DAILY VERSE
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7-8

DEVOTION
We will all reach the end of our time here on earth one day. When we do, what will we say? Will we be able to say the same as Paul? Holding strong to our Christian faith the way Paul held onto his is no easy task. It takes daily effort and a decision to do it. It’s surely not easy, but fighting a good fight never is. Choose to walk in the path God has chosen for you to earn your crown of righteousness.

DAILY VERSE
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. – Luke 12:7

DEVOTION
If you’ve ever felt distant from God, like he doesn’t care, think again. God has counted every single hair on your head, not one person on this planet cares for you more than God does. For the parents out there, think of how much you love your children; God loves them more. So when life throws you a curve ball and you’re feeling afraid, turn your focus to the One who cares for you most. God will provide a path through every obstacle.

DAILY VERSE
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7
DEVOTION
We can see on television, magazines and the “big screen” that outward appearance is overrated. So many people think that if a person “looks good” they must “be good”. So many times though, we find that the heart of someone can actually make them quite unappealing. When we look at people through the lens of their heart, the true person, we see the beauty that God has lavished on them. Don’t let your first impression be what’s on the outside, look to the inside for the real treasure.

DAILY VERSE
Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11

DEVOTION
A simple verse with a huge meaning. As part of the Lords Prayer, this speaks about a reliance on God. To rely on God we must have faith, trusting that God will provide for our needs daily. Do you have faith that God will take care of you? Or do you rely solely on your own efforts? Lack of faith is cause for anxiety, stress and hopelessness. Trust in God, rely on His strength and you will be amazed.

DAILY VERSE
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

DEVOTION
Following Jesus is easy when your life is going great. When your faith is put to the test in the midst of hardships though, your faith is put to the test. I’m not talking about spilling your coffee on your lap or forgetting your anniversary, I’m talking life changing trials. When you truly start trusting God you will find strength you never knew you had. You’ll find that obstacles you never thought you would conquer put behind you. With God, all things are possible, but it takes reliance on him if you are to soar like an eagle.

DAILY VERSE
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Isaiah 43:2

DEVOTION
Going through hard times can be like being caught in a riptide while enjoying a day at the beach. One minute you’re swimming in cool refreshing water, the next minute your over your head fighting to get back to shore. The harder you fight it, the more you expend all of your energy and are in danger of drowning. God allows for us to go through certain struggles to strengthen and teach us. The more we struggle instead of giving in, we face missing the point of it all. It’s a time for us to seek God’s direction and help. He’s the one that will give us the strength to get safely back to shore.

DAILY VERSE
Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?
Isaiah 40:12

DEVOTION
Evidence for the existence of God is everywhere. The complexities found in every living thing speak of an intelligent design and purpose. It’s when we ponder these things that we truly see how far beyond our knowledge creation really is. It’s when we consider how we are made in God’s image and how God made us to accomplish great things. Whenever you feel like the world is crashing down around you, remember that God has counted every hair on your head. He cares for you and wants your life to be good. Trials build our faith, strengthen our character and give us a testimony to encourage others.
