Jesus in Us!

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.

John 6:51

Bread is the reference the Bible uses for ones spiritual life. Only Jesus can fill the hole this world leaves in every person’s life. In the beginning God dwelled with man. Today we can experience that same joy by believing on the Lord Jesus!

Don’t Be Discouraged

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Psalm 27:14

Discouragement can creep in when we don’t see situations turn out the we’d hoped or even in the timeframe we’d hoped they’d be resolved in. But for anyone whose spent time in God’s word and in prayer, these will only be moments because God’s strength is revealed and patience replaces the discouragement.

Lord, forgive me when I waiver. Thank you for your unending supply of mercy and strength.

In Jesus’ Name

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9–11

One day every knee will bow as Christ breaks through the clouds and is seen by every living soul in this earth. We’re currently experiencing a time akin to Noah’s. A time where people are turning away from our loving Father and turning to the world and their own desires. Every Christian should feel God’s grief and fervently seek to spread the “good news” of Jesus Christ.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Waiting can be one of the most humbling events in your life. When something life changing is worth waiting for it takes patience and strength only God can provide. Waiting is one of the most faith building endeavors you’ll ever face because it requires a reliance on God’s timing.

Lord forgive me for my impatience at times, give me strength in waiting.

Open Doors?

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”

Matthew 6:10

How many times have you prayed for your own will rather than God’s? It’s not easy when you passionately pray for something and realize at some point you may have to accept that it’s not God’s will and actually ask Him to close a door. If the door does not close, you will know that God has more to do in that area and continued prayer is called for.

He Knows…

Jesus wept.

John 11:35

Jesus was not immune to sorrow, he had feelings just like we do. So when we come to Him, he relates to us on a human level as well as a heavenly level. When we go through tough times, Jesus is there.

Be Alive!

“I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead”

Revelation 3:1b

Have you ever seen a dead person? Without the spark of life, we are simply shells. Jesus was sending a warning to fakers, acting like a Christian is much different than truly following Christ. We are to reflect the One who lives in us, we are to “be” alive!
