God get the glory

Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.

Proverbs 21:21

You’ve heard the phrase, “It’s tough out there.” “Out there” is the world we live in. You’ll face scrutiny and things that will challenge you, almost on a daily basis. As a believer, we always need to stand for what is right, no matter the cost. The world will see it and, most importantly, God will be glorified!

Don’t Forget the Good

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.

Psalms 103:2-3

When we’re going through trials or praying through things that will make a vast change to our lives, patience is not always the character trait we can say we’ve mastered. We tend to focus on the fact that we’re still in the midst of waiting instead of focusing on all we have been given. Don’t forget to be thankful and focus on the good.

Turn Your Struggles into Triumphs!

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22

Burden – a load, especially a heavy one.

We all face obstacles that alter our course, some that can shake our foundations. God is ready and willing to help you carry this heavy load, but it takes a measure of faith. Too often we lay these burdens at the foot of the cross only to come back later and pile them back onto our backs. Allow God to carry the load and you’ll soon see He’s fully capable and willing to turn your struggles into triumphs!

On Your Own Steam

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25

As believers, God’s Spirit resides inside of us. The Holy Spirit has been given to us as a helper, a guide for navigating this life and the many obstacles we will face. The problem, many of us run on our own steam. We’re still trying to be “good enough” to gain God’s favor. Jesus Christ bridged that gap. He already paid the price so we could instantly, by belief, mend that broken relationship with God. Stop trying so hard, rely on the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and actions.

Pride: The wall must fall

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 16:18

Pride has taken down many amazing men and women. It’s the one infectious human trait that erects the highest of walls between mankind and a loving God. We cannot make it a single day without God’s breath in our lungs and His strength coursing through our bodies. Humble yourself, fall on your knees, and give thanks to God who loves you!

We Have the Power

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36

As believers in Jesus Christ, we’ve been freed from the shackles of this world and we hold the power to refute the attacks of the enemy. Many times we forget to exercise the power we have available to us and instead allow fear to enter the picture. You are a child of the Almighty, take advantage of your status as a child of God!

A Thankful Heart

Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

Psalm 63:3

We have an amazing God! How often do we lay before Him petitions and forget to be thankful? A thankful heart brings with it more contentment, more peace, and helps strengthen our relationship with God. Let us begin the week by being thankful for his steadfast love and for everything He has given each of us!
