The least among you is the greatest

DAILY VERSE

For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1 Corinthians 15:9

DEVOTION

Hollywood focuses on looks. Big corporations hire those they feel can make them the most money. People are considered to be successful if they own expensive things. God doesn’t operate that way. He uses and equips those who are willing. Looks, material wealth, none of that matters. God can use you for His purpose, to glorify and populate heaven with once lost souls.

God doesn’t operate that way. He uses and equips those who are willing to serve Him. Looks, material wealth, none of that matters. God can use you for His purpose, to glorify and populate heaven with once lost souls.

Whoever is the least among you is the greatest – Luke 9:48

Walk the walk…

DAILY VERSE

But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.

Galatians 6:4

DEVOTION

I’ve had to look in the mirror and really do a self-examination. There are so many times that my reactions can be harsh. I don’t mean to be, but it ends up coming out that way. I want the Holy Spirit to be the tamer of my tongue and the motivator of my heart. After going through some life-changing trials over the last 7 years, I sometimes feel like I’m learning to walk all over again. If you’ve noticed your reactions seem to be more worldly than godly, pray for God’s equipping and a refreshing of His Spirit. Walk the walk…

Till the End…

Finishing line

DAILY VERSE

But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days

Daniel 12:13

DEVOTION

“To infinity, and beyond!”, Buzz Lightyear triumphantly proclaims. This world is simply a temporary place for those who believe. As we see in God’s Word, our focus is to be on serving others and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Even when trials knock us down, we must always keep eyes on the prize, an eternity in heaven!

He Will Return!

your-kingdom-come

DAILY VERSE

And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

Matthew 8:29

DEVOTION

We see throughout the Old Testament that Jesus’ first coming is foretold. In the New Testament, even though Jesus himself said He would come again, here we see that the demons confirm that this time will come. This passage illustrates Jesus healing two demon-possessed men, but this often overlooked portion confirms that even the demons know that there will come a time where Jesus confronts and binds them. Your kingdom come…

I stand at the door and knock…

DAILY VERSE

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

Revelation 3:20

DEVOTION

This a beautiful illustration of the amazing love Jesus has for us. He seeks out the lost, constantly urging, “I am here.” Even for those who seem to be so far away from the Lord, if we could peek through the vale to the unseen world, we would see Christ patiently waiting as He urges them to come into relationship with Him so their name can be written in the Book of Life.

Can You Hear Me?

DAILY VERSE

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

James 1:19

DEVOTION

Confession time: This verse convicts me! So often I fail to tick any of these boxes. My wife would say, “Half the time you don’t even hear what I’m saying.” To multitask, I have to concentrate on multitasking. If I’m reading something or engrossed in a television program, forget about it. I’m a work in progress. I’m passionate to a fault, but with God’s help, I will be able to check all of these boxes!

Make a Difference!

DAILY VERSE

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

Proverbs 3:27

DEVOTION

Doing a good deed or paying someone a compliment is a free gift each one of us has the opportunity to give daily. You can never know how this can completely change a person’s outlook. We should always strive to do good, be kind to all and make a difference in someone’s day!

Waiting for a Way In…

DAILY VERSE

And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”

Job 1:8

DEVOTION

If you’ve ever considered that Satan may be overlooking you for some reason, remember Job. He was considered by God Almighty to be a truly good person. That’s a tall order when it’s been said that humanity as a whole is not good at all. Never make the mistake of thinking Satan is not intimately aware of your greatest weaknesses. He will use them to trip you up and cause you to fall the second you are vulnerable. Hide God’s Word in your heart!

God will give you Strength!

DAILY VERSE

And he said, “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

Daniel 10:19

DEVOTION

As the lyrics go, “They are weak but He is strong.” We can go through life on our own strength, but that truly amounts to weakness. With God’s strength, we can face the storm, we can wade through the crashing waves, and we can survive whatever challenges life throws our way. Trust in God and He will give you the strength!

Stay Awake!

DAILY VERSE

“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”

Matthew 24:42

DEVOTION

Life can hold many distractions, but we should strive not to be distracted from the fact that Jesus’ will return. We’re told to “stay awake”. Peter, John, and James were asked to stay awake with Jesus as he prayed, yet this one small task they could not complete. Surely they did not know the gravity of what He asked. We do. This should always be in the back of our minds, a motivator for all that we do. He is coming!
