Step by Step

…So do not let yourselves become discouraged and give up.

Hebrews 12:3

If your days are consumed by a season of trials, these are the days where your faith is moving up a notch. You may not see or feel it. In fact, some days you may feel like you’ve gone backwards. And maybe you have slipped in some moments but overall, you are still progressing.

Imagine yourself on a step that represents your faith where it is now. In order to get to the next level of faith and grow, all you need to do is take the next step. Your faith is growing and increasing even if the results appear small.

You’re becoming more like Jesus even though you still feel controlled by your flesh. And as you glance back to to see your progress, you’ll see a flight of stairs behind you that you didn’t even realize you took.

Don’t give up, and don’t grow weary. God will come through for you!

God, show me the way

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

You were created by God. His plan for you can’t be messed up by your circumstances or your past. He set you on a course in your mothers womb. Rather than worry, we should be asking God to guide our steps toward the destination He has prepared for us.

When you were created, God encoded you for an assignment, and He gave you the power to get it done. The enemy’s job is to pull you out of that divine assignment, out of the will of God.

Pray God shows you the way and gives you the faith to get there!

Looking Back…

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

I love this quote by Christine Caine, “Sometimes when you’re in a dark place, you think you’ve been buried. But, you’ve actually been planted.

When trials come, we can do one of two things; we either run from God or to Him. When we run from Him, we’ll completely miss the growth and revelation He planned to show us. When we run to Him, we access the very power that brought Christ back from the dead, the Holy Spirit!

Once you are on the other side of this season, you’ll be able to look back and see where God was working and how He was changing you!

He Will Carry You

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1

It’s normal to feel emotional when trials, or a rough prolonged season of them, overtake your life. Our emotions will tell us to panic, when in fact, we should be strong and rely on God more heavily to help us navigate these times. These times are meant for growth. They are not a form of punishment.

It’s been said that we often believe our doubts and doubt our beliefs. We need to flip that around. Remembering and claiming the truth we’ve learned in the spiritual seasons of our lives will carry us through the valleys when doubts come our way.

Through faith and reliance on God’s strength and goodness, victory will be found!

God WILL Make a Way

The Lord said to his people, “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths and where the best road is. Walk in it, and you will live in peace.”

Jeremiah 6:16

Many of us may feel like we’re standing at a crossroads, waiting for God to nudge is in the right direction. We’ve exhausted resources, prayed constantly to hear His voice, but silence has been the answer thus far.

Know this; wherever you are, God has you where He wants you! It may be painful and you may feel like your compass is spinning out of control, God WILL make a way!

God is planning extraordinary things for your future. God sees the potential you possess and when you follow His plan, you’ll end up going places you could never have dreamed of and accomplishing more than you ever imagined!

Spiritual Quicksand

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

Hard times are a passport that gives you permission to go places you wouldn’t get to any other way. — Levi Lusko

Every Christian will experience mountaintop times; where life is good, you feel close to God, and things are going well. You feel blessed. We will also experience times in the valley; times where we feel far from God, life seems to be a struggle daily, and you wonder if you ever experience the mountaintop again.

Sometimes God allows these seasons for His purposes. We have to trust that if He allows us to walk through a spiritual valley, then He is doing a work in us that can only come when we persevere through what feels like spiritual quicksand.

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

Proverbs 13:20

Every time God does something significant in our lives, He introduces us to new people—ones who are connected to our destiny and purpose. God’s purpose requires assembling the best people to accomplish his will.

Be thankful for those God brings you into relationship with, He’s put them there to accomplish His plans for your life!
