It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
As followers of Christ, it is our actions an reactions that the world sees.
These things should speak louder than words and should show the world who you are as a believer.
We can’t change everyone’s mind and we can’t force our beliefs on other people.
But our lives can be a testament to who God is and how his love can change lives.
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Prayers can be simple, but in times of trials they can resemble pleading.
Our desire is that he hears our anguish, the heartfelt, gut wrenching urgency.
God hears the smallest whispers, the fleeting thoughts, he hears everything.
When his answers come we know he’s heard us and we can’t help but praise him.
Whatever your situation, know that God is listening!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 2: 5-6
When I go through struggles in my life I want them to be over now.
Yes they may be good for me, I may learn something, but they’re hard and who wants that?
My understanding and the way I perceive things is limited, I don’t know everything.
So I can’t see off into the future and I don’t know how my actions will effect my life tomorrow.
God on the other hand does, and trusting him because he loves my is what I chose to do.
He knows every thought and motive, he knows what will strengthen me and he can make the crooked road of my poor decisions straight again.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
When you’re going through trials there’s one thing that can bring on fear…not hearing from God.
It’s like any relationship, a lack of communication can lead your mind into strange territory.
After not hearing God’s still small voice, feelings of discouragement can creep in.
But he creator of the universe knows no boundaries, he will hold you up with his strength.
When you think you have nothing left, he will help you through it.
Sometimes trials involve God’s silence, but take heart, he is right there beside you.
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
How do you respond when your friends or family tell you about a struggle they’re going through?
Most of us will immediately go to God with prayers of comfort, peace, healing…whatever the situation warrants.
Jesus does the same on our behalf, he goes to God the Father with his requests for us!
It’s amazing to think that when we think we’re alone in our struggle, Christ is petitioning God with prayer on our behalf.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Have you ever been at a loss for words?
There are sometimes where I just can’t find the words to pray.
I’ve been in a great time of testing and there are times where I just feel overwhelmed.
My stomach burns with stress, my heart aches at the thoughts going through my head.
We have been made in God’s image, we have a spirit that lives within us.
In these times our sighs speak louder than words, God hears our anguish and pain.
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.
Sin can weigh us down, it can be like carrying a fully loaded pack on your back.
Carrying that weight can get tedious and sap the strength right out of you.
It can lead to the darkest of days and lowest of lows in a persons life.
People feel embarrassed or shamed to the point where they feel there’s no forgiveness.
But Jesus Christ covered our sin with his blood, clearing a path for those who believe.
No matter what your sin is, God will wash it away as if it never existed.
