Seek and Ye Shall Find…

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deuteronomy 4:29

The parable of the seed and soil (Matthew 13) really illustrates the difference between curiosity and seeking God intimately. Seeking out God should be an “all in” endeavor. God wants us to know Him, truly know Him on a deep level. If we are to emulate Christ we have to know who He is. Seek and ye shall find. Dig into God’s Word and experience Him today!

“Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

John 11:40

These are the words Jesus spoke to Lazarus’ grieving sisters. These words are just as relevant today. Do we minimize God’s ability to do the impossible by doubting Him? God can! God will do all things, that in the end, point directly back to Him. He wants our stories to be love stories that show how much He loves us. Have faith then, because God is glorified when the impossible is made possible.

Here’s to Mud in Your Eye!

“Do you believe in the Son of God?” The man replied, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!’ And he worshiped Him.”

John 9:37-38

“Here’s to mud in your eye!” As we stumble through life without Christ, we are blind to spiritual things. Just as the blind man could not see until Jesus spit into the dirt and smeared mud in this man’s eyes. As he washed in the pool of Siloam he came out seeing for the first time. God is glorified in the fruitful life of the believer. May we all have great faith and fruitfully pursue Jesus to God’s glory!

Give Thanks!

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.

Psalms 100:4

Today we give thanks for God’s blessings in our lives, but that should be a daily practice shouldn’t it? The holiday season is always a joyful time as the year draws to a close and we can reflect on all that God has done. We should practice being this joyful and thankful all year round. God is good all the time, we  should be thankful all the time as well.

Be Thankful

Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:20

It’s hard to be thankful when your situation feels dire and you feel as if God isn’t listening. Never think for an instant that God doesn’t know what you’re going through or that He isn’t listening. God uses trials to strengthen us and draw us closer to Him. He will carry you through whatever it is and on the other side of it, you will see all that God has accomplished on your behalf.

In an Instant

But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

John 6:20-21

Following Christ doesn’t get you a pass on life’s ups and downs. If anything, it guarantees they will come. But Jesus is there as a calm reminder of His love for us. Just as the storm seems as if it will capsize the boat, Jesus is there to deliver us safely to the shore in an instant.

Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.

John 6:11

Jesus can create abundance where there is nothing. Have you ever been in a place where you wondered, “What is next Lord, when will you move?” Jesus has the ability to drastically change your circumstances, sometimes He’s just waiting for the right time. Be hopeful then and have faith, He will open doors that no man can shut.
