For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Romans 8:15

The first place someone turns in reliance says a lot about where their motivations lie. If we rely on our own strength, we will soon lose our motivation. But our Father in heaven has an endless supply of strength, mercy, grace, and love stored up for each of us if we’d simply humble ourselves and turn to Him in our times of need.

Always Give Your Best!

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Colossians 3:23

When you’re not doing something you’re passionate about the only way to be sure you’re doing your best at it, is to imagine your CEO is the Lord Himself. It changes your perspective on a massive level. We should always approach everything as if God is always watching: our friendships, our marriage, our job…fill on the blank. Always give your best!

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

1 Peter 1:6-7

We may have to endure the temptations of the “ruler of the kingdom of the air”, but our future has been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. We are temporary residents here. Our heavenly homes await us, unscathed by earthly circumstance. Be joyful then, eternity is within your grasp.

Walk the Walk…

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

When I’ve related past experiences to my children, it’s because I’ve made the mistakes and my hopes are that they will not repeat them. Jesus walked on this earth, He knows the struggles mankind faces first hand. His strength abounds, rely on Him and He will get you through the deepest waters.

Advice from the Faithful

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Psalms 1:1-2

We all need advice from time to time. Whether we’re facing hardships or an unfamiliar situation, we reach out to others who may have experience dealing with whatever it is we’re going through. But we need to be cautious in who we get our counsel. Getting advice from someone whose feet are planted squarely in this world can be dangerous to the believer. Seek advice from those who are strong in their faith so that you will not stumble.

With Us!

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,and they shall call his name Immanuel”(which means, God with us).

Matthew 1:23

When you’re in the midst of life’s circumstances wondering where God is in all this, He is here. He’s there when we’re hurting, He’s there when we feel joy. He’s there when you have plenty, and He’s there when you are in need. Christ bridged the gap and He sent the Holy Spirit, He is Immanuel…GOD IS WITH US!

Rely on the Holy Spirit

These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10

The Holy Spirit has been sent to help us develop our faith in Christ and walk the small path that leads to God’s kingdom in heaven. Many people forget that they have 24/7 access to God and His power to bring us through every kind of hardship and preach His word with authority. Rely on God’s Spirit, which resides in you, He will lead you to Living Water.
