Requests vs. Conversation

So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name, I will lift up my hands.

Psalm 63:4

We can all be somewhat robotic in how we approach God, asking Him to satisfy our wants and desires. But how often do we truly seek Him simply to draw closer? I shudder to think of how often my prayers turn from a friendly conversation to asking Him to accomplish something. Don’t get me wrong, we should seek God’s help in all things, but when our requests outweigh our relational conversations with Him, it’s time to reevaluate our prayer time.
