On Equal Ground

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.

Matthew 9:9

Imagine the crowds of people streaming into church on a Sunday morning. Now, imagine sticky notes attached to each person’s back proclaiming their status: father, mother, son, daughter, banker, construction worker, drug addict, adulterer… Then imagine this; as they walk through the open doors of the church, all of the labels fall off.

It’s not how the outside world sees us, it’s how God sees us that matters. As a group of believers, the labels are gone and we are all on equal ground in God’s eyes. If we are willing, Christ will use us to do amazing things in His name!
