He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
There are trees that God has specifically designed to withstand times of severe drought. Their root system is such that they are able to store water, provide shade, and even bear fruit in these conditions. We tend to build up walls and pull into ourselves when we face tough trials or spiritual drought. God wants us to be like these trees, relying on Him, with his unending flow of living water. We can still bear fruit, trials are a time for building up our faith.
