Ask God for Peace

DAILY VERSE

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1

 

DEVOTION

Whatever we may be striving for, whatever situation we may find ourselves in, trust that God will guide every footstep you take. The believer has full access to God, put your faith in Him to accomplish what may seem insurmountable.

Lord, allow me to put my full trust in you when doubt and fear threaten to overtake me. Give me peace, knowing that you will guide every aspect of what may seem humanly impossible.

Do Not Conform

DAILY VERSE

Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

DEVOTION

Rome defeated itself by losing the desire to be great. Settling instead on promoting lavish lifestyles, focusing on pleasure, conforming instead of reforming, and accepting instead of tolerating. History is repeating itself in these days as we see the same things that defeated Rome have appeared in our society. These are the days when we as Christians need to be bold when sharing our faith before it succumbs to the lure of the enemy.

Lord, help us to be bold when sharing our faith. Help us to clearly convey the hope we have in you.

Onward Christian Soldiers

DAILY VERSE

Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

2 Timothy 2:3–4

 

DEVOTION

When someone joins the military they put their civilian life behind them. There are new stricter rules to follow, no more individuality, and you must follow orders. Likewise, the Christian must recognize Christ’s authority and put aside his/her selfish pursuits. The opportunity to serve others and to be a soldier for Jesus Christ is a position of honor.

Lord, help me to be courageous in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Share Your Story

DAILY VERSE

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:1–2

 

DEVOTION

The story of our faith is not meant to be a solo project, it’s meant to be shared. Just think if the stories contained in the Bible were kept solely by those who experienced them, we’d never have know God’s story and the amazing things He’s done. As God works in our lives he presenting evidence of Himself to be shared and draw others near to him, both believers and the unsaved. Share your story.

Lord, thank for the amazing things you have done in my life. Help me to share with others so that they too may know your goodness.

Give God the Glory

DAILY VERSE

And you shall rejoice in all the good that the Lord your God has given to you and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the sojourner who is among you.

Deuteronomy 26:11

 

DEVOTION

God is good! His aim is to be your strength, your compass in life, and the one you go to humbly. When God achieves great things that could never have been realized without Him, praise Him and share what He as done. Give God the glory. Lord, you are amazing! When you do great works in my life, remind me to give you the glory.

The Tempter

DAILY VERSE

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

 

DEVOTION

Temptation comes directly from the devil. God may allow us to be tested, but He will always help us to overcome the tempting. Just remember; when the devil comes a knocking, send Jesus to answer the door!

Lord, thank you for being my refuge when the storms of temptation come my way.

Peace in the Midst

DAILY DOSE

O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works.

Isaiah 26:12

 

DEVOTION

With wars and rumors of wars, and chaos all around us, it is comforting to know we have our Lord that can give us a peace when things are so complicated. Thank you Lord, for your peace that comes to us in the midst of our troubles.

Joy vs. Fear

DAILY VERSE

They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

Revelation 22:4

 

DEVOTION

We have no fear of death, because Jesus erased that our debt when He died for our sins. As believers in the risen Lord, we should have a great peace about the end of our earthly existence. Lord, thank you for granting me the keys to heaven’s gates and for allowing me to live with joy rather than fear.

Show Restraint

DAILY VERSE

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.

1 Corinthians 6:12

 

DEVOTION

Though we’ve been granted salvation, it doesn’t give us untethered reason to sin. We should show self-control and focus on good things that prosperous to our souls. Temptation lies around every corner, we should guard ourselves with God’s word. Lord, help me to make the right decisions that glorify you.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”

DEVOTION

With the new year at hand, let us strive to do God’s will every day. There are so many things going counter to His will today. It will take a strong unwavering stance to go against what has become the norm. Lord, help us to be strong to stand against the ways of the enemy.
