We are given no signs from God; No prophets are left, And none of us knows how long this will be. How long will the enemy mock you, God?

– Psalm 74:9–10

Where is your hope? When everything looks completely hopeless, what should we do? In Jesus’ time, the Romans had basically taken over. The people had hoped for a Messiah clothed in armor, riding in on a snorting stead, sword drawn, ready to wipe out their oppressors. What they got was a meek, yet wise teacher, who cavorted with the lesser class, guiding them back to a right relationship with God. Most missed out on the hope that he was there to convey. There is never really hopelessness for those who trust in Jesus Christ.
