DAILY VERSE
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold…
1 Peter 1:7
DEVOTION
Gold, when put through the fire and shaped, can be turned into something lasting and beautiful. The same can be said about believers. When we go through the fire of trials, what results is a much stronger warrior for Christ .

DAILY VERSE
Then one of [the ten lepers], when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:15–16
DEVOTION
How thankful are you when God answers your prayers? Do you utter a simple “thank you God” and go about your day? Or do you fall to your knees in awe of the amazing thing God has done, praising him? Shout to the world the great things God has done for you, give him the reverence he deserves.

DAILY VERSE
I am the one who has seen the afflictions that come from the rod of the lord’s anger. He has led me into darkness, shutting out all light. He has turned his hand against me again and again, all day long. He has made my skin and flesh grow old. He has broken my bones. He has besieged and surrounded me with anguish and distress. He has buried me in a dark place, like those long dead. He has walled me in, and I cannot escape. He has bound me in heavy chains. And though I cry and shout, he has shut out my prayers. He has blocked my way with a high stone wall; he has made my road crooked. He has hidden like a bear or a lion, waiting to attack me. He has dragged me off the path and torn me in pieces, leaving me helpless and devastated. He has drawn his bow and made me the target for his arrows. He shot his arrows deep into my heart. My own people laugh at me. All day long they sing their mocking songs. He has filled me with bitterness and given me a bitter cup of sorrow to drink. He has made me chew on gravel. He has rolled me in the dust. Peace has been stripped away, and I have forgotten what prosperity is. I cry out, “My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the lord is lost!” The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:1-23
DEVOTION
This is what real trials feel like; they leave you battered and bruised spiritually, emotionally and physically. Remembering that the Lord is merciful and loving is the glimmer of hope you have to hold onto to make it through. God will show you the way. As he faithfully removes your circumstances, you will see his true glory. Never give up, continue to press on, and you will find the One who has redeemed you.

DAILY VERSE
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Ephesians 1:3
DEVOTION
You, as a believer in Christ Jesus, are amazingly blessed! Do you count your blessings or do you complain that you don’t have enough? The simple fact that your salvation has been secured should be enough, but this world will tell you that you need more. Be thankful for what you have.

DAILY VERSE
I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:12-13
DEVOTION
God puts us through trials so that we may gain experience and wisdom in how to live a humble life. This world, with it’s excesses, will try to sway you into a life of extravagance and debt. But God has a better plan, a plan that will lead to peace, joy, and hope. Ask God for guidance and strength, to show you the way to a fruitful life.

DAILY VERSE
You have driven my friends away by making me repulsive to them.I am in a trap with no way of escape.
Psalm 88:8
DEVOTION
If you want to find out who your “true” friends are, go through a major trial. I’m not talking a “you can’t pay the rent this month” trial, I’m talking a “we’ve lost almost everything” trial. For some reason these trials tend to cause people to scatter like rats jumping off of a sinking ship. I can’t say it doesn’t hurt, but in the end it will give a new and deeper appreciations for the friends you still have and the new ones you make.
