This act of Christ symbolizes the heart each of us should long to possess. Humbling ourselves to serve others leads not to a lower status, but to a status Jesus assures is greater. It is the very heart the He came to this earth with and it was this attitude that drew people to him. It’s a form of surrender, to allow Christ to love others through us.
