The next day, the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted, “Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel!”
The Pharisees and Sadducees refused to even consider that Jesus may be the long awaited Messiah. He was born to regular folks and held no high office, he surrounded himself with everyday people, he often met with those considered to be the lowest of society. But the people had either seen or heard about the miracles Jesus performed and believed he had been sent by God. Belief is the cornerstone to our faith, we cannot truly follow Jesus Christ unless we truly believe.
