Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.” —Matthew 23:1-3
There is nothing more hurtful to the Christian faith than people claiming to follow Christ, but instead publicly living counter to how the bible says we should live. The bible says there’s nothing worse than salt that’s lost it’s flavor. If we are to be the salt of the earth, we can’t water down our faith by hiding who we are or by talking-the-talk, but not walking-the-walk.
